Our short list of some of the best things to do in Minneapolis for the summer.

Summer in Minneapolis is a time to explore the city's many attractions, enjoy the outdoors, and indulge in some delicious food and drinks. From scenic parks and lakes to historic landmarks and cultural centers, there's no shortage of things to see and do in the city. There are tons of great things to do, places to see, and food to eat. So here is our short list that we always recommend.



  • Visit the Chain of Lakes

The Chain of Lakes, which includes Lake Harriet, Lake Calhoun, and Lake of the Isles, is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Visitors can walk, bike, or rollerblade along the trails that surround the lakes, rent a paddleboat or kayak, or simply relax on one of the many beaches. The area also boasts several restaurants, including the popular Lake Harriet Bandshell, which hosts free concerts throughout the summer.






  • Explore the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden
